Life as a 26 Year Old...

Being a 26 year guy in today's world is tough, what with the pressures of corporate lifestyles (where it is considered that you were working only if you stay in office till 9 pm everyday, even though you were just browsing through blogs and playing solitaire), the stress of commuting between work and home ( 2 hours one way...), and yeah.. the fact that you remain a singleton after all these 26 years... well, life aint easy!!

BUT.. wanna know whats even tougher? when you have friends who are either committed/engaged/married, and you end up hanging out with them all the time... you go to pubs, malls, movies... and you end up feeling like a big Kabab Mein Haddi!! Of course, your friends know your state but cant help but remark on and off " Rahul, ab tu bhi kuch karr!!" ... Gurrrrrr... and oh! to make you feel good, your committed friends would say " Rahul dude... tu jaanta nahi tu kitna lucky hai, bachelor life is THE life boss... "... oh yeah boss... why dont you try telling me that when you are kandoooling with your chick??? (dont ask me the meaning of that word guys.. )

You go out and hit the disc, and end up paying double than your committed "couple", stag charges you see... Saala chain se party bhi nahi kar sakte... as if being 26 AND single was not taxing already...

Life as a 26 year old is tough.. the emotions you go through are varied... you are supposed to play the tough boy role to the hilt... but you know that deep down inside you are an emotional wreck.. staying away from family for last 10 years of your life doesnt help either...

Aaahh... am i complaining too much? but i know the silver lining... that life as a 28 year old wont be this bad... :)

Smiling away... waiting for MY time...

Man i hate that mentality where oen has to just sit at work n wait for the no of hrs to be punched in...but sadly thats the case in India.

But i did have one of my bosses abt 3 yrs ago who told his team that i dont want a single soul to be sitting in the office beyong 6 , if yur sitting beyond 6 yur inefficient....man i was impressed ...

My previous job my boss that this shit mentality so i quit n now i am happy my boss sits in the Us office i dont even know wat he looks like ....yuhuuuuuuuuu

maybe its tougher because you make it tougher for yourself. so what if you're single? it isn't anything permanent!

Being single at 26 is not so bad. I am 26 as well eventhough am not single, I sometimes wish I had the freedom to do stuff by myself and not couple related issues. Plus relationships have their own stress...and lovely moments too.

Rahul... in City of Dreamz said...

@tairebabes: Yeah you're right... but after those times of stress.. its these moments that make it all worthwhile...

Welcome to my space gurl :)

But being single is not that bad. Less complications, freedom to do whatever you want without having to answer someone, eyeing other women without feeling guilty...sooo much man!! And, then you have your options.

Waise, whats this "life different at 28" or are you being optimistic?? Whatever it is, it is GOOD. :-D

Rahul... in City of Dreamz said...

@Realistic: Life @ 28 simply means 2 years down the line i will be earning more... will be in a better position in life and hopefully will have that special someone in my life... and thats just being realistic.. not optimistic ;)
