Attitude

Happened to catch the MTV Roadies auditions over the weekend… and while it does make an interesting watch… I could not help but notice one thing that is common in all the three episodes they have shown so far…

It’s the attitude…

Now either I have grown out of "I-am-cool-so-look-at-me" generation, or I am simply untuned to todays times… but what I saw in the contestants so far was a chit pasted across their foreheads… that look at me I am screaming for attention…

They showed some real characters, who are just like one of us, one gentleman who had a gym belt flung across his shoulders to one lady who was all in black (down to black nail-polish… if I may add). a-la Bani of Roadies 4.

Are we becoming a generation of wannabes? Is being cool only defined as going out of your way and doing something so radically different that the whole world sits up and takes notice? No matter how weird it is?

I wanted to write about this. Even though I dont want to Agree with Raghu; I have to agree when he says " You are trying to be someone which are not. You keep telling yourself many times a day that "You are xyz" and at the end of the day you keep trying to be that XYZ and keep shouting for attention with that fake XYZ shadow"

@abhishek: sab jagah ek hi dialogue maarta hai tu :-P

@Raaooooolll: I am a big fan of MTV Roadies, its the ultimate reality show for sure...

not all who are selected are wannabes...some really really have the ATTITUDE...(like Bani and Anthony)

And this generation is not all "I-am-cool-so-look-at-me" kinds...there are some of this kind and since they are so so LOUD, it appears that the whole generation is suffering from the same syndrome...

@Abhishek: But the question is.. ye dialogue yahaan kaise apply hota hai?? big fan of Mohabbatein??

@Sunshine:Yeah.. unfortunately thats a sorry state of affairs!

@Anjuli: Yes! I love it too.. ;)
and yeah attitude is what Bani n Anthony had.. but turning up in strange hairdos/clothings and saying cuss words every second is not at all attitude..

Though i agree with u that not all are like this.. there are some sane ppl here.. like u n me ;)

id suggest rather than observin the ppl....listen to wat raghu has to say bou em...ull find answers to so many of ur questions!!
acc to him real attitude is not wat u do to look diffrnt but wat makes u diffrnt evn in d most normal of attires!!
hez got much more...watch out fo him!!

but what exactly do u mean by being COOL?

Rahul... in City of Dreamz said...

@Nidhi: Ji Daadi ji :)

@Mez: He! he! Raghu getting it back.. now wont that make for great TV!!

@Gunj: I Agree gunj.. but the problem is that still ppl keep turning up with put-on attitudes and fake personalities! clearly, no one is listening to him!

@Divya: Being COOL according to me.. is when i am at peace with myself, and the environment around me.. when i am not accountable for actions yet responsible for them.. and when i am on TOP on things and in control.. then.. i am COOOOOL!!

yeah...well the first thing that raghu says..."i hate fake things". being fake is not cool...but many of us fall into the trap of jes copying what's cool, coz ultimately we too want to stand out...but, hey.. i have to agree with raghu...being yourself may be strange pehle..but at the end of the day ur lying to yourself when you fake your personality....good post
